Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper. He gave to his disciples, and those of us who follow in their footsteps, something by which to remember him. Yet this meal is much more than a remembrance. In the supper we celebrate the victory of God over sin and Death, and we give thanks to God for that victory. In the supper we commune with Jesus. Jesus is always the host, and he is always the nourishment for the meal. In the supper we receive the joy and power of the Spirit that brings us new life. In the supper we anticipate the joy and plenty of the final banquet when God's reign will be fully realized.  And that is just the tip of the iceberg. . . .

VALUING OTHERS: It’s good for everyone

An inspirational evening of drama and dialog for Confirmation-age youth, teachers and mentors.

Every human wants to feel valued, so the greatest gift you can give someone is to make them feel that way. When people feel they don’t matter, they try to take power away from others. But when someone feels important and worthy, they want to make everyone around them feel that too. Making a difference in this world, then, is as easy as causing the person next to you to feel valued.

Charlie Krebs, associate professor of theater and communication at Lakeland University, a motivational speaker, actor and director will use drama, music and audience participation to show ways to share compassion and kindness to feel valued.

And MORE ?????

Confirmation is a serious undertaking. In confirmation a young woman or young man reaffirms the vows made by parents at the time of Baptism.  Confirmation is a time to affirm a faith in God, through Jesus aided by God's Holy Spirit. It is a time to renew the commitment to follow Jesus as a disciple.  It is also the process by which our young people become members of Peace UCC.

Our expectation is that those who choose to be confirmed will participate in the life of this congregation both during and after confirmation.
